Players are allowed only one character in The LATTICE, because a player who commands multiple characters can exert an unbalancing influence, including the especially-bad case of dropping out of the game and leaving several other players without a story. Free Email services such as HotMail, YahooMail, etc., are "anonymous" because anyone anywhere can get as many free Email accounts as they wish, in an attempt to gain multiple characters in the game and to cause an imbalance in play.
To prevent dishonest players from acquiring multiple character accounts, The LATTICE requires that each applicant provide a valid NON-anonymous Email address to verify identity. Your ISP (InternetService Provider) will certainly have included an Email account with your internet access package. For example, if you buy net access from GlobeComm.net, and your username is Joe56, then your NON-anonymous Email address is (probably something like) joe56@globecomm.net. If you don't know your NON-anonymous Email address, or how to get mail from it, contact your ISP.
Your non-anonymous address is required only once, to verify identity during application. It will not be shared with anyone, or distributed in any way. After you are accepted, you can use any Email address in the game.
To protect the players, this rule is enforced!
